Terms of use
Last changed 26 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Turfrig is a trading name of Little Jam Jar Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17539606. The registered office and the rest of the company details are on our legal page, which links to littlejamjar.com.
In these terms "we", "us" and "Turfrig" mean Little Jam Jar Ltd trading as Turfrig. "You" means anyone using the site.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you use turfrig.com, check a registration, list a van, contact a seller or use Rigbook. Our privacy notice explains what we do with personal information; it is part of how we run the site but sits on its own page.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll show the date at the top and, if you have a listing or a Rigbook, email you at least 30 days before the change applies.
3. What Turfrig is, and what it isn't
Turfrig helps you find, check, build and keep a van. It reads van listings from eBay and from private sellers who list here, scores them, and shows parts for each one.
- We don't sell vans and we aren't part of any sale. We're not a dealer, broker or agent. A sale is between the buyer and the seller. eBay listings are eBay's and their sellers'; eBay's own terms apply when you buy there.
- Scores are a starting point, not an inspection. We read a listing's text and specifics and apply public rules of thumb. We can be wrong, and sellers can be wrong. Always see the vehicle, its documents and its weight plate before paying anything.
- The MOT history comes from the DVSA as it is. We read it and add our reading, but we don't change it and can't promise it is complete or current.
- Parts prices are estimates. "≈ £X in parts" comes from live eBay prices for that van's generation. It is not a quote and doesn't include labour.
- We earn a commission on some links. Little Jam Jar Ltd is in the eBay Partner Network. When you buy parts or kit through our eBay links, eBay pays us a commission at no cost to you. It doesn't change which vans we show or how we score them. Vehicles earn us nothing.
4. Using the site
The site is free. Please don't:
- copy the site or its data in bulk, or use bots or scrapers on it (search engines following our robots file are fine);
- try to get round our rate limits or spam checks, probe for weaknesses, or interfere with how the site runs;
- use the site to break the law, or to harass, deceive or harm anyone.
We may limit, block or suspend access that breaks these rules.
5. Checking a registration
The reg check reads the public DVSA MOT history for the registration you give us. Use it to check a vehicle you're thinking of buying, already own, or have a genuine reason to look at. Don't use it to trace, identify or track a person. We cache answers for 24 hours by registration only and never store who looked up what. MOT results contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
6. Listing a van (private sellers)
To list a van you must:
- be 18 or over and selling as a private individual, not as a trader (dealers and converters can't list here yet);
- own the van, or have the owner's permission to sell it, and be free to sell it;
- give its real registration, and describe it honestly: mileage, condition, faults, any insurance write-off category (Cat S or N), and any outstanding finance;
- use photos you took or have the right to use, showing the van you're selling.
A person reads every listing before it goes live, usually within a day. We can refuse a listing, or take one down, if it breaks these terms or the law, or if we have good reason to think it's misleading or unsafe for buyers. We'll tell you why. A listing runs 30 days and you can renew it, change it or mark it sold with the link we email you.
Buyers contact you through our relay form; your email address isn't shown to them, but your reply comes from your own address. Arrange viewings and payment directly with the buyer. Turfrig never takes payment for a van and never asks for it; anyone who says otherwise isn't us.
7. Rigbook
Rigbook keeps your van's history, reminders, parts list and build log. You sign in with a link sent to your email.
- Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. Emails can be delayed or filtered, and the DVSA record can be wrong. Keeping your MOT, tax and insurance current is still your responsibility.
- Your build log is private unless you switch on a public build page for a van. A public page never shows the registration, MOT history, reminders or your email.
- You can download everything we hold, or delete your account and everything in it, from your Rigbook at any time.
8. Content rules
These apply to everything you put on Turfrig: listings, photos, messages to sellers and build pages. Don't post anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages or helps someone break the law (including fraud, and stolen or cloned vehicles);
- is hateful, threatening, harassing or sexually explicit;
- shares someone else's personal information without their permission (a registration plate on your own van is fine);
- infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
- is spam, advertising for something other than the van, or a way to take the conversation off-site to avoid our safety measures.
Reporting. Every private listing and public build page has a "Report" link, and you can email [email protected]. A person reads every report. If we take something down, we tell its owner why. If your content was taken down and you think we got it wrong, reply to our email and a person will look at it again. Complaints about how we handled a report go to the same address.
9. Your content
What you post stays yours. You give Little Jam Jar Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and display it for running Turfrig, for as long as it's on the site. When you delete it, it goes from the site at once and from our encrypted backups within six weeks. You confirm you have the right to post it.
10. Our content
Turfrig's own text, scores, design and code are © Little Jam Jar Ltd. Listing titles and photos belong to their sellers and to eBay. Map data and other sources are credited where they appear.
11. Availability
We aim to keep Turfrig running and accurate, but it's a free service: it can be slow, down, or wrong, and we can change, suspend or stop any part of it. If we close Rigbook or listings for good, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email and a way to download their data.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. If you're a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
Apart from that, and because Turfrig is free:
- we aren't responsible for a vehicle you buy or sell, for what a buyer or seller does, or for the content of eBay or any other site we link to;
- we aren't responsible for losses caused by relying on a score, an MOT reading, a parts estimate or a reminder without checking it yourself;
- we're only responsible for losses that were foreseeable when you used the site, and not for business losses.
13. Ending
You can stop using Turfrig at any time, and delete your listings or your Rigbook account yourself. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; we'll tell you why unless the law or a safety reason stops us.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and claims go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can bring a claim in your local courts too. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live.
15. Contact
Email [email protected] about anything to do with Turfrig, including reports, complaints and appeals. Company details, and how to reach Little Jam Jar Ltd itself, are on our legal page.
